MISSION: Corporate Affiliated Agent R Reporting for Duty

I am SO excited to announce a special partnership that’s going to be a part of the Secret Agent L Project this year. Last summer, I was approached by the Riverset Credit Union here in Pittsburgh about the possibility of them becoming the first “Corporate Affiliated Agents” the Project has ever had. The company is big into giving back (just check out their track record), and huge fans of community and caring. And when their point of contact said that Riverset’s employees were ready to start spreading anonymous acts of intentional kindness, I knew right away that this was something special.

So this year, Riverset Credit Union will be spreading kindness all over the city under the guise of Corporate Affiliated Agent R, and I couldn’t be more excited. It’s always wonderful to have a business in the community that gives back, and Riverset does that in spades. But when the individual employees of a true community business want to come together as a group and “spread some love,” you know you’ve found some very special people.

For our first every mission, I wanted to attempt something small yet meaningful. Something that prompted people to slow down and spend some time with loved ones. We all work so hard and so many people actually take their work home with them, whether physically or mentally. The idea behind this was to help someone to relax by giving them the tools to rent a few movies and have some popcorn.

So, the idea came to me as I was talking to a friend who said that watching movies was their way to unwind after a particularly long or rough day. That it gave them the opportunity to relax with their significant other and forget the troubles of the day. Their mind calmed and then, when it was over, they would just talk. With the weather being somewhat warm the prior few days, I was imagining people trying to do other things after work instead of just relaxing. I saw that the forecast was calling for a drastic change in temperature and was including quite a bit of snow. What a perfect time to help people stay in and relax at home!

I placed the package leaning up against the huge picture board that is typically attached to the RedBox and that shows the movies/games that they currently have in stock. It was definitely difficult to do this unseen as it is located right outside the doors and is a busy shopping center. I believe that I was able to get away without people noticing me, at least I hope so!

I really thought it was fun and had a blast doing our first mission!
