MISSION: It’s In the Bag
Sorry I’m a little late with today’s mission post. I wasn’t feeling very well last night (sore throat, aches, fatigue), so I thought I’d allow myself to sleep in a little today and move a bit more slowly than usual. I think the holidays have finally caught up with me!
As promised, more holiday missions from our amazing Affiliated Agents!

I love to make things for someone, anyone. I started making tote bags ever since I saw Green Bag Lady’s website. Although I make a lining in my bag so it’s reversible. I also make knitted hats, key FOB chains, bake and of course sew. When it’s towards the holidays, I always make tons of bags to give away. I give them to teachers, friends or families. This year I made too many and I figured this would be a perfect secret agent gift.
My son is in Pre-K and we have to drop and pick him up from school. The library is right next to the school so I walk and get my books and movies while I wait for his class to end. I always bring my tote with me when I go, since I always end up borrowing lots of books and it’s a perfect carrier.
I started upstairs but as I turned around the corner, I saw a big sign that says SMILE YOU’RE ON CAMERA, so I skedaddled out of there before they start looking at me funny, all secretive. LOL! Then I went into the story room but there was a woman there with her grandson. OK, one more place, which is downstairs. NO luck there either, there was 2 librarians eating their lunch and she asked me if I needed help. (QUICK think, think, think!)
So I told her I was looking for a chapter book for my daughter, which I wasn’t, but I do have a daughter. LOL! She told me where they were, picked up a few and then I sat it down at the edge table and told her I needed to use the bathroom. Ahhhh, that’s where I ended with my present. I hurriedly place it on top of the paper towel rack took some pictures and flushed the toilet (just in case they’re listening). I washed my hands as well.
The towel rack is right in front of the door, so when someone walks in, they will see it right away. So, I have a feeling it was one of those librarian that got the bag. Maybe I will see her sometimes walking with my bag.
I’m not done yet, it feels good and it just makes me happy. My daughter asked me why I’m doing this, she’s 8, and I told her that it makes me feel good and it’s fun and it will make someone’s day.
Affiliated Agent C, your bag is beautiful! If you don’t already have your own shop on Etsy, I think you should! They’re gorgeous! And reversible? Brilliant! Thank you for your sharing your talent in the name of kindness!

i love this — especially having to find the “perfect” place — i am always thinking that people will think i am performing a terrorist act or something — it’s always such a great feeling to do a “drop” in the name of kindness!!
Hi. I live in Kampala, Uganda and i just realised what a lot of ppl need cheering up. Now i know what to do between now and the new school year!
Thanks sooooo much Agent L for posting my mission
I’ve been thinking about selling my bags, but I’m not sure yet. I want to give out more before I sell.
Thanks for the comments Bonnie and Sharon
I hope you feel better Agent L.
Great mission and beautiful bag! Hope you feel better soon, L!

What a great mission! Who wouldn’t be happy with such a pretty bag on their shoulder
Love this idea! I love to make crafty things but don’t have many people to give them to.
Love this idea! I love to make crafty things but don’t have many people to give them to. Now I have plenty of people to give my items to!
