MISSION: Lollipop Love in the Park

You know what doesn’t get enough attention from adults these days?

Lollipops.

Man, I used to love lollipops as a kid. In fact, DumDums were my favorite. Whenever I’d go to the bank with my mom, and we went through the drive-thru, the ladies in the bank always dropped some DumDum lollipops in the canister and magically zipped them back to my mom’s car.

I love Affiliated Agent A’s mission, because it reminds me to take time to be a kid again.  By the way, this mission’s operative is a kid. She’s only 14. I love it.

{Maybe next time I go to the bank, I’ll ask for a lollipop.}

I set out to begin Mission Park on Sunday evening. My plan was to bring my bunches of lollipops into the park with my dog, just in case anyone noticed me (who takes a walk through the park in the dark, alone?). Then, I would leave one on a bench by a pavilion, one in a baseball dugout, one on the playground, one in the skatepark, and one on the sidewalk that kids walk to and from school on. That way, all kinds of different people would get lollipops.

This was going well, and I had already planted my first three, until I realized that there were a lot of skaters at the skatepark. There was no way I could slip in and drop a lollipop bunch off, since there is only one entrance to the fenced-in skatepark. I was sort of bummed that no one from that group of people would get anything, but I decided I would make it work on my next mission. Instead of putting my fourth in the skatepark, I decided to put it on another bench. Then, I put the last bunch on the sidewalk where I knew an elementary school kid would find it on Monday. Hopefully, tomorrow I’ll have time to walk my dog to check if all of my lollipop bunches were found.
