MISSION: Painting the Town Green and Pink
Teaming up with someone you love in order to complete a mission of kindness is some of the most fun you can have! And if family and kids are involved, all the better!
Affiliated Agent R and her mini secret agent, Affiliated Agent M, got together after M’s 5th birthday to learn about the importance of giving back and being kind. It was a super fun way to celebrate Birthday Week!

I have been a fan of the Secret Agent “L” from the very beginning. I have been meaning to complete a mission for quite some time – I found the perfect opportunity this week! My granddaughter – now known as “Secret Agent M” celebrated her 5th birthday this week. We celebrated the entire “birthday week” with parties and presents. After receiving so much – I wanted to teach her the importance of giving back to others . We spent today talking about kindness and the importance of giving back to others. We then “painted the town green and pink “ in honor of “Secret Agent L” by spreading little “happy’s” all around town.
My granddaughter and I spent a few hours planning our mission. I found some wonderful little monthly planners and calendars which I stocked up on. We placed the planners and calendars in gallon size baggies – we then placed some pretty pink filler inside. A Secret Agent L business card was placed in the bag – we also tied a business card on the front of the bag with green and pink ribbon.
A note was also placed in the bag which read as follows: “This random act of kindness is just for you! YES YOU! (please take me) “Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.” ~ M. Twain – This random act of kindness was brought to you by Affiliated Agent’s “R” & “M” – Agent’s of Secret Agent “L” – HAVE A WONDERFUL LOVELY DAY! – Kindness…..pass it on! http://www.secretagentl.com”
We filled our basket with a total of 25 gifts and we were off! We left packages at Winner’s Circle Park, Flowood, Mississippi; G. Chastaine Flynt Memorial Library, Flowood, Mississippi, and Kroger Grocery Store, Flowood, Mississippi. Gifts were left on cars, picnic benches, and even on Santa’s chair at the park. Secret Agent “M” was in perfect character – tiptoeing around and being very secretive! She loved the mission and we had such a good time making memories.
We have decided to make this a tradition each year to celebrate Secret Agent M’s birthday. This also inspired me to keep some “happy’s” in my car so that I can give more often. I’m now hooked on spreading random acts of kindness!
Affiliated Agent R, thank you so much for sharing this mission with us! And thank you most of all for teaching your granddaughter the importance (and fun) of kindness!

what a fabulous way, not only of spreading kindness, but of teaching children to think of others and give back. in an age where kids are learning so early to ask for more “stuff” this lesson is priceless!
Wow, so CREATIVE and a great way to have a child get involved with giving. And it’s fantastic that she finds it so enjoyable
What a great idea to make that a tradition every year! Love it.
This was so much fun to read. The pictures are great! I totally think I want to get involved now. I mean, if a 5-year-old can go around making a difference in the world, why can’t I?
