Reactions
While it isn’t Secret Agent L’s objective to receive feedback from people who find the gifts she and her Affiliated Agents leave around, she will admit that it does feel pretty good to hear from those people. It’s so nice to know that they are truly affected by the work she and her Affiliated Agents are doing!
Here is a sampling of some of the reactions we’ve gotten from our recipients:
I wanted to thank you so much for your kindness! I’ve been feeling a bit down (money problems, job problems, a cat with cancer) and was in a funk today when I took a smoke break from work just a few minutes ago. I work (on the weekends) at the Pitt Law School Library. I went downstairs, and went to pick up the Pitt News to read while smoking when a little color caught my eye. And there was your card, your inspirational message, and a note pad.
I’ll be sure to pass on the goodness. I’m also going to blog about it on Monday and post a link to your blog as well.
You brightened my day and for that I say Thank You!
Hugs,
JK
I found your card in Hillman Library today at about 8:40pm. You have my compliments on the idea and I’m sure those who have received the purse, notebook, stickers and so on were pleasantly surprised. I was too embarrassed to mention this earlier, but your card was a well-needed pick-me-up. I have been feeling the blues for some time now…

Howdy! I just wanted to let y’all know that I was the recipient of the bag on the bench…I wanted to thank Agent M and of course the whole Secret Agent L project for the gift. April 3rd was actually my birthday, and I’d actually not been having a very good day, but that present completely turned my day around. We both thought it was the coolest thing ever. So thank y’all very much for my birthday present! Keep on rocking!~M
Wow! After a busy day and dashing in to run an errand, what a blessing it was to find your note and gift on my windshield! I will most definitely bless someone and share the love! Thank you! ~MT
Hello secret agent L.,
I’m a security officer at Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands and today started pretty bad.
Had to get up at 3 am to go to work and every passager at the airport was grumpy and bitchy.
So i thought my day was completely ruined
… untill i found a RAK.
A envelop with a card inside and a little book “it’s gonna be okay”.
It made my day.
I’m hoping that thru this i can thank the person who left this gift that brightened my day.
And i’m thanking u for starting this amazing project!!
With kind regards,
J
Dear Secret Agent-Angel,
I found your card in the restroom on top of Mt Everett, MA on August 14th. When I first opened the card I was overwhelmed- I sat there and cried, wondering how did you know, how wonderful it was that you thought to leave that card for- me. I was just rereading the card yesterday and saw you had left your email address in the card. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.

Hello Secret Agent L.,
I am not sure where to begin… Words will never be able to express what this card did for me at the time it was received. Most weekday mornings I go to the Starbucks at Ballantyne Commons and Johnston road in Charlotte, NC. On Wednesday morning, September 8, 2010, I was exhaused and did not make my usual run to Starbucks after taking my kids to school. As I sat down to work that morning, everything started to go wrong. By mid-morning I had had enough. I was frustrated with work, extended family, my finances; nothing was right. I was even fighting with my husband for absolutely no reason.
All of a sudden, I got into my car and headed to Starbucks for the morning coffee I did not get. When I got to the window, I was given a card that said “hang in there! you can do it!” and my coffee was paid for. I immediately started to cry! Things were not that bad! I paid for the person’s coffee behind me, when home and started to tackle each issue, starting with giving my husband a big kiss.
Times are tough and I cannot solve all of my problems, but I am truly blessed. I have a wonderful family, a good job that helps to pay the bills and home that is full of love. With so many people struggling these days, I have no right to be down. I don’t believe in coincidence. I believe in my faith. I know that God put me in that car at that specific time and sent me an angel, by the name of Secret Agent L, to remind me that I am doing just fine.
Thank-you! I believe that there is nothing I cannot do, and I am inspired to do more for others.
Bless-you… I pray your random act of kindness is returned to you ten times over.
Again, thank-you!
~J
